Puebla’s governor, Alejandro Armenta, announced that members of the business community have come forward with new information related to Rafael N., the man accused of carrying out armed attacks on Vía Atlixcáyotl.
Speaking at a press conference in Mexico City, Armenta revealed that one of these individuals—whose identity remains confidential—will formally submit their testimony to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) to be added to the ongoing investigation.
The governor emphasized that it is the FGE’s responsibility to assess the relevance of this new evidence and decide whether to open further inquiries. He also highlighted the importance of citizen and business collaboration in shedding light on the case, assuring that his administration will continue working closely with prosecutorial authorities to ensure the investigation proceeds within the bounds of the law.
This development comes a day after the arrest of Rafael N., who is currently under investigation for the attacks targeting drivers on Vía Atlixcáyotl. The case remains active as the Puebla prosecutor’s office continues to gather evidence.
For residents and commuters in Puebla, this ongoing investigation underscores the critical role of community involvement and transparent law enforcement in addressing public safety concerns.
