The recent arrest of Rafael N., accused of the shooting on Vía Atlixcáyotl, does not close the case of the attack on the Periférico Ecológico where a child was seriously injured earlier this year.

José Luis Hernández González, the Metropolitan Investigation Prosecutor of Puebla’s State Attorney General’s Office, clarified that these are two distinct investigations. The shooter responsible for the January attack on the Periférico remains at large.

In January, a bullet struck a vehicle traveling on the Periférico Ecológico, severely injuring a child by shattering his jaw. This incident sparked public outrage and prompted a strong response from local authorities.

Despite ongoing investigations, the perpetrator has not been apprehended, and the Attorney General’s Office continues to actively pursue leads in this open case.
