Public feud ends 15-year collaboration between Pepe Hanan and Puebla On-Line

Post by usertopnews

A public clash shook Puebla’s journalism scene, when sports journalist and analyst Pepe Hanan shared his take on the Mexico vs. England match using what he called the “Hanan System” on X (formerly Twitter).

Shortly after, Arturo Luna Silva, director of Puebla On-Line, fired back with a dismissive message that not only mocked Hanan’s analysis but also announced the end of his 15-year-long collaboration with the outlet, where Hanan wrote the column *En Línea Deportiva*.

Luna’s post read:
“Stop messing around with your ‘Hanan System’ and your Football Tequila… The abuse of AI causes stupidity. We publish you on Puebla On-Line until TODAY; starting tomorrow, you publish in La Escopeta Política…”

This public editorial decision, shared via social media, was accompanied by personal insults directed at Hanan and references to other journalists—Erick Becerra and Iván Mercado—who work at La Ke Buena Puebla, a station owned by Hanan.

The controversy escalated when Ricardo Morales, former host of La Ke Buena Puebla’s news programs, shared Luna’s message. Morales left the station last year amid a restructuring that placed Becerra and Mercado in charge of the news segments—both mentioned by Luna in his post.

As of now, Pepe Hanan has not responded to the announcement of his departure from Puebla On-Line. The exchange has sparked widespread reactions among journalists and social media users who closely follow the dynamics between these two well-known figures in Puebla’s media landscape.

This episode highlights the evolving nature of media collaborations and the impact of digital platforms on professional relationships, reminding us how public discourse can quickly shift in today’s connected world.
