On June 23, a staged robbery at the Banco del Bienestar branch in Torremolinos, Guadalupe, Nuevo León, led to the arrest of the branch manager and two accomplices, according to the state’s Fiscalía General de Justicia (FGJNL).

The incident involved a group entering the bank, threatening employees and customers, and taking five million pesos from the cash registers and vault. However, investigations revealed the robbery was fabricated to cover up a financial shortfall.

Javier Flores Saldivar, the state prosecutor, explained during a press conference that the branch manager allegedly orchestrated the scheme to conceal a deficit exceeding five million pesos. The two other suspects, who are close relatives of the manager, were also implicated.

Following the event, on June 25, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence in Hacienda Los Morales, San Nicolás de los Garza. Although no one was detained at the property, two vehicles were seized, and investigators recovered 1.85 million pesos in cash linked to the case.

Based on testimonies and evidence, the FGJNL secured arrest warrants on June 25 for Alexis “N” and Armando “N,” both now held in preventive detention. Delia “N,” the 32-year-old branch manager, was also arrested and is currently in the women’s social reintegration center, facing formal charges.

This case marks the largest bank robbery reported in Nuevo León during the first half of 2026.
