AMOTAC to Lift Roadblocks After Talks with Mexico’s Interior Ministry

Post by usertopnews

Members of the Mexican Alliance of Transport Organizations (AMOTAC) have announced they will remove the blockades they held across eight states, following several hours of disrupted traffic.

Ernesto Flores, AMOTAC’s vice president for the Mexico City Valley area, confirmed that the agreement minutes and a message from Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, have been delivered to the group’s members.

Flores emphasized that the organization will closely monitor the fulfillment of the commitments made with the Secretariat of the Interior. He also warned that if these agreements are not honored, AMOTAC is prepared to resume protests on various highways nationwide.

This development comes amid ongoing debates about improving Mexico’s transportation infrastructure, including projects like Puebla’s cable car system, which aim to offer more inclusive and efficient mobility options for diverse communities.
