Post by usertopnews

On Monday, June 22, 2026, the Atlixco Secretariat of Citizen Security arrested a man and a woman linked to the circulation of counterfeit 1,000-peso bills in local businesses.

The operation began after merchants reported an attempted payment with a suspicious bill. Authorities responded promptly, launching a search that led them to the vehicle involved. During a preventive inspection, officers found 45 documents resembling fake 1,000-peso notes.

The suspects, Jorge N. and Berenice N., both originally from Mexico City, were detained and handed over to the Federal Attorney General’s Office for currency falsification charges.

This swift action prevented further harm to Atlixco’s commercial community, underscoring the local police’s dedication to public safety and peace of mind.

For residents and visitors alike, such efforts reinforce trust in law enforcement and the importance of vigilance in protecting economic integrity.
