On the early hours of Sunday, June 14, 2026, Carlos ‘N’, a Control Judge linked to the Welfare Court, was detained by Mexico City’s Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) after allegedly assaulting his family at his home in Coyoacán.
According to journalist Carlos Jiménez, host of the program *C4 en Alerta*, the judge arrived at his residence reportedly intoxicated and verbally attacked his family members. The incident took place in the Ejido Viejo de Santa Úrsula Coapa neighborhood, specifically at the intersection of Benito Juárez and Francisco I. Madero streets.
Police officers spoke with a 57-year-old woman at the scene, who identified the man as her brother and confirmed he had verbally abused her and other family members shortly before their arrival. Following this, Carlos ‘N’, 49, was arrested, informed of his legal rights, and taken to the Public Ministry of the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJ).
This is not the first time Carlos ‘N’ has been in the public eye. He previously sparked controversy after threatening to sue citizens who criticized him on Facebook, and has faced criticism for his perceived inability to fulfill his judicial duties effectively.
While the case unfolds, it highlights ongoing challenges within the judicial system and the importance of accountability, especially for those entrusted with upholding justice. For communities in Mexico City, such incidents underscore the need for transparent institutions that protect families and promote social well-being.
