Civil Association Factor Ciudadano Supports Puebla Cablebús: No Tree Cutting Involved

Post by usertopnews

On Saturday, members of the Civil Association Factor Ciudadano held a press conference to share key details about the environmental impact and infrastructure benefits of the upcoming Cablebús project in the Puebla metropolitan area.

The organization emphasized that the project is designed with a strong ecological focus and respect for the urban environment. Addressing local residents’ concerns about vegetation, they clarified that only 97 trees will be relocated—not cut down. Most of these trees are currently unhealthy and will undergo a comprehensive process including vaccination, sanitation, and replanting in different areas.

As part of environmental mitigation efforts, the State Government will actively participate by planting ten times the number of trees being moved, ensuring a net positive effect on Puebla’s green spaces.

The Cablebús route will span 13.61 kilometers, strategically connecting various points across the city. Factor Ciudadano highlighted that this aerial cable transport system is the most ecologically efficient option compared to alternatives like metro, metrobús, or electric surface vehicles, which require costly infrastructure and cause significant disruption to traffic.

By operating above ground, the Cablebús avoids negative impacts on daily mobility and road congestion, offering a modern, accessible, and environmentally friendly solution for Puebla’s transportation needs. This stance from Factor Ciudadano underscores the importance of advancing sustainable urban mobility projects that respect both people and the planet.
