On Friday, May 29, 2026, a new attack attributed to the so-called Atlixcáyotl sniper shook the Angelópolis area, marking the sixth person affected by gunfire from an unknown assailant.
This time, the victim was a female driver who shared her experience on social media, posting videos and photos showing her car with a shattered window caused by a bullet. The incident happened while she was driving along Vía Atlixcáyotl near Torre JV.
According to the Instagram user @karlargzs, the shot came suddenly and without any clear indication of its origin. She warned her followers: “Friends in Puebla, please be very careful. Today we suffered an attack on Avenida Atlixcáyotl near Torre JV. We didn’t know where the shot came from.”
Fortunately, no one was injured, but the attack caused material damage and a traumatic scare for the vehicle’s occupants. The driver acknowledged that the situation could have ended in tragedy.
After the incident, she searched online and found reports of similar shootings recently occurring in Puebla’s metropolitan area, confirming this is not an isolated event. “We saw on social media that someone is shooting indiscriminately; after what happened, we realized it’s not the first time,” she said.
This latest case has reignited public concern, as previous attacks targeting drivers in Angelópolis have been reported, with victims experiencing bullet damage while on the road.
Residents and regular commuters in Angelópolis have expressed their worries through social media and public forums, demanding that authorities increase security measures along the Vía Atlixcáyotl corridor to prevent further violence.
