After the official results of the UPAEP 2026 Lottery were published, users on social media began raising concerns about a striking coincidence: every single winning ticket was linked to a “seller” or “collaborator,” who also receives an additional prize for selling the winning ticket.
A closer look at the winners list, available on the official lottery website, shows that all prize-winning tickets are associated with a collaborator. This detail stands out because UPAEP had actively promoted digital ticket purchases through its web platform during the campaign. Yet, in the public list, there is no evidence of any prize awarded to a ticket apparently bought directly online without a collaborator involved.
Each published winner entry includes the winner’s name, ticket number, and a section for “seller’s name” and “seller’s prize.” This has led to questions from digital buyers who claim to have purchased their tickets directly from the official website, without any student or collaborator acting as an intermediary.
For many participants, this raises doubts about how direct online purchases were registered—especially since none of the published winning tickets seem to have come from a sale without a collaborator attached. Some are even questioning whether online ticket sales were truly included in the draw, arguing that statistically, among the 150 prizes awarded, at least one should have gone to someone who bought online without a collaborator, and without a seller claiming the additional prize.
So far, the university has not issued a specific public explanation about whether any tickets were sold entirely through institutional or direct web channels without intermediaries, nor have they clarified how many digital purchases were automatically assigned to collaborators within the system.
While there is no public evidence of irregularities, the fact that all prizes were linked to collaborators—who also receive economic incentives or additional prizes—has sparked calls for greater transparency from participants who expected more clarity about how digital sales were handled.
