This was announced by Jos\u00e9 Luis Garc\u00eda Parra, the Cabinet Coordinator, who explained that the plan seeks to integrate the metrob\u00fas system (RUTA), the bicycle network, and the upcoming Cableb\u00fas into a single, comprehensive mobility ecosystem.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a mobility strategy that Puebla has never even conceived before. It\u2019s a major project and will help mobility in Puebla for the next 15 years,\u201d Garc\u00eda Parra stated.<\/p>\n
Key proposals include two new metrob\u00fas lines and a \u201cmajor project\u201d designed to connect strategic points across the state with significant investment. Garc\u00eda Parra hinted that another mobility project will be presented soon, describing it as \u201csomething Puebla had never thought or imagined having.\u201d While he avoided specifics, he suggested in a later interview that the proposal\u2014already prepared by the Secretar\u00eda de Movilidad y Transporte\u2014could be a light rail, noting only that \u201cit starts with T\u201d and would focus on connecting the entire metropolitan area.<\/p>\n
This statement aligns with what Manuel Contreras de los Santos, head of the Secretar\u00eda de Infraestructura, announced in April: the Puebla\u2013Cholula\u2013Atlixco light rail project is both technically and economically viable.<\/p>\n
According to Contreras de los Santos, the first phase would include 23 strategic stops, with the capacity to move up to 80,000 passengers daily and an initial investment of 60 million pesos.<\/p>\n
Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier has also indicated that the project will require extraordinary investments and will be developed under a public-private partnership scheme.<\/p>\n
