Despite her administration\u2019s insistence that no evidence has been presented against Rocha Moya, Sheinbaum avoided confirming whether he will return to his post.<\/p>\n
\u201cI personally have not spoken with him; I spoke the first day when the US request came out, but not after that. We will wait\u2014about his possible return\u2014let\u2019s not get ahead of ourselves,\u201d Sheinbaum said.<\/p>\n
She emphasized that the Federal Attorney General\u2019s Office (FGR) is actively investigating the case following the US extradition request. \u201cThe FGR is quite advanced in its work, has given us some information\u2014not all\u2014and we have asked them to inform the people of Mexico,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Regarding the accusations from the US Southern District of New York, Sheinbaum stated her government has not received any evidence from American authorities since the indictment was filed. She also clarified that the extradition treaty\u2019s deadlines do not apply here because they are not included in Sinaloa\u2019s state constitution. Therefore, Rocha Moya must make his own decisions while awaiting proof from the US.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we have said, we will not cover for anyone\u2014that is very important\u2014but we also will not accuse anyone without evidence. That is the role of the Attorney General\u2019s Office,\u201d Sheinbaum stressed.<\/p>\n
