S\u00e1nchez Gonz\u00e1lez explained in an interview with Cinco Radio that the investigation points to a violent dispute involving drug retail operations and extortion within Market Morelos. This conflict has already resulted in multiple violent incidents, including attacks that left three people dead and ten injured earlier this June. <\/p>\n
The security chief named two criminal groups involved: La Familia Michoacana, a nationally operating cartel, and Los Toscano, a local faction. In February, coordinated operations by the SSP led to the arrest of 25 individuals linked to the national cartel cell. <\/p>\n
The violence has also impacted local services. The Centro de Salud Urbano M\u00e9xico 68, located near Market Morelos, suspended its operations due to the unrest. Despite this, 47 staff members\u2014including doctors, assistants, nurses, and cleaning personnel\u2014have protested the closure, highlighting the community\u2019s struggle amid ongoing insecurity. <\/p>\n
