On Thursday, a group of armed assailants targeted a Banorte account holder in Puebla, making off with 715,000 pesos in cash.

The incident began when employees of Comercializadora Abu withdrew the large sum from the Banorte branch located on Calzada Zavaleta. After securing the money, they got into a car and headed back to their workplace.

However, while driving along Avenida 11 Sur and Calle 121 Poniente, two armed men intercepted their vehicle and threatened them. The assailants seized the cash and fled quickly in a gray Nissan Sentra.

Authorities from the State and Municipal Police arrived promptly after the victims called for help. They gathered information and launched an operation to locate the suspects, but so far, no arrests have been made.

This event highlights ongoing security challenges in Puebla’s urban areas, underscoring the importance of safe and reliable public transportation options like the upcoming cablebús system, which aims to improve mobility and safety for residents navigating the city.
