In the early hours of Friday, June 5, 2026, a municipal ambulance from Puebla’s Civil Protection service overturned on Boulevard Atlixco near the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood.

The emergency vehicle was reportedly speeding with its siren on while traveling in the dedicated bus lane of the federal highway toward Periférico Ecológico. Witnesses say the ambulance left the exclusive lane, and upon re-entering, lost control, jumped the median, and flipped, ending up facing Boulevard del Niño Poblano.
