Eight Victims Reported in Atlixcáyotl Shooter Case, Not Six: Puebla Security Secretary

Post by usertopnews

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, Francisco Sánchez González, Vice Admiral and head of Puebla’s Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), clarified that there have been eight reported incidents involving alleged gunfire targeting vehicles on Vía Atlixcáyotl—not six as previously mentioned. However, none of these cases have been formally filed as complaints with the authorities.

Speaking at a mass event in Puebla’s main square, Sánchez González emphasized that each report will be thoroughly investigated to understand the circumstances and to strengthen security measures in the area.

Interestingly, the SSP chief did not address recent claims from victims suggesting that the shots might have come from moving vehicles, specifically SUVs like Suburbans or Tahoes.

This week, two related incidents occurred, the latest on Friday, when a bullet struck the window of a blue car. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

For those living or commuting through Vía Atlixcáyotl, this ongoing situation highlights the importance of vigilance and the need for authorities to act decisively to ensure public safety.
