Security cameras captured two women allegedly attempting to steal clothing from a Coppel store in San Pedro Cholula.
The footage shows the women moving through the clothing section, hiding several garments under the clothes they were already wearing. Store staff had been monitoring them closely, so their actions were recorded on video.
As of now, there is no information on whether the women were detained or handed over to authorities, nor on the value of the merchandise they allegedly tried to take.
This type of theft, known as “fardeo,” involves concealing products within clothing or bags to leave stores without paying. It remains a challenge for department stores and supermarkets alike.
The video has circulated on social media, where users emphasize the importance of reporting suspicious behavior to store security rather than intervening directly.
While incidents like this highlight ongoing security concerns, they also remind us of the need for inclusive and effective public safety measures that protect both businesses and communities.
