Clara Karina, 11, Found Safe After 12 Days in Captivity in Puebla

Post by usertopnews

After more than 10 days of intense searching, authorities located 11-year-old Clara Karina García Fernández, who had been missing since early July. She was held against her will by a 40-year-old man in the Bosques de Amalucan neighborhood, north of Puebla city.

Clara Karina disappeared on July 2, sparking a desperate search by investigators and her family. On Thursday, July 16, the Fiscalía de Puebla confirmed her safe recovery. The girl was found visibly distressed and fearful, held by Antonio Everardo N., who is not related to her.

The man tried to flee when authorities approached but was arrested. During his inspection, officers found 10 packets containing a white powder resembling crystal meth and two bags with what appeared to be marijuana. He faces charges of bribery and possession of narcotics with intent to supply.

Clara Karina was immediately taken to the Public Ministry for comprehensive care and to begin legal procedures, as she is considered a potential crime victim.

This case highlights the ongoing challenges of child safety and the importance of swift, coordinated law enforcement action. It also underscores the need for accessible, secure public spaces and transportation options—like Puebla’s upcoming cable car system—that can help connect communities and improve overall safety in urban areas.
