Puebla is gearing up for a new chapter in urban mobility with the upcoming Cablebús system, designed to offer a seamless, accessible, and connected transportation alternative. On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, José Luis García Parra, coordinator of the state cabinet, presented the project before the State Congress, highlighting its focus on inclusivity and convenience.
The Cablebús aims to integrate with existing public transit by positioning its stations at key transfer hubs—places where multiple routes intersect—making it easier for commuters to switch between different modes of transportation. This strategic placement is expected to enhance connectivity across the city, especially between the northern and southern areas of Puebla.
One of the standout features García Parra emphasized is universal accessibility. The system is being designed with people with disabilities and reduced mobility in mind, ensuring safety and ease of movement throughout the journey. This approach aligns with broader efforts to create more inclusive urban spaces where everyone can travel comfortably.
In addition to accessibility, the Cablebús will offer free Wi-Fi in both stations and cabins, catering to the digital needs of today’s commuters. The design also prioritizes user comfort, with thoughtfully planned spaces to improve the overall travel experience.
Visual materials shared during the presentation showcased how the Cablebús will connect important city landmarks—educational centers, commercial zones, hospitals, and employment hubs—further integrating Puebla’s social and economic fabric.
While the existing RUTA bus network primarily serves east-west routes, the Cablebús will complement it by strengthening north-south connectivity. This expansion is expected to provide thousands of residents with more mobility options, supporting a more dynamic and accessible city.
As Puebla embraces this innovative transport solution, the Cablebús stands out not just as a new transit line but as a step toward a more inclusive, connected, and comfortable urban future.
