Neighbors Rally in Support of Puebla’s Cablebús, Highlighting Benefits for Northern Communities

Post by usertopnews

As the State Congress held a session with Cabinet Coordinator José Luis García Parra, a group of residents from various neighborhoods in Puebla gathered outside to voice their support for the upcoming Cablebús system. They emphasized how this cable car transit project promises to improve mobility in the city’s peripheral areas.

Led by Armando Méndez, the residents pointed out that the Cablebús will significantly reduce travel times across the city while keeping fares affordable—especially for those living far from the urban center. “The main benefit is for the neighborhoods on the city’s outskirts,” Méndez said, underscoring that the system includes free rides for seniors, basic education students, and people with disabilities.

Méndez also highlighted the potential for the Cablebús to ease vehicular congestion, noting that northern Puebla communities like Amalucan stand to gain the most from this new transit option.

Acknowledging the criticisms that often accompany large infrastructure projects, he remarked that many attendees had taken the time to learn about the system’s scope and advantages.

The residents expressed hope that during García Parra’s appearance before Congress, a more detailed explanation of the Cablebús project and its benefits for the population would be provided. This demonstration took place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, reflecting growing local engagement with Puebla’s evolving public transportation landscape.
