A woman was violently robbed near the RUTA Line 2 stop in the San Ramón neighborhood, located in the southern part of Puebla city. The incident, which was captured by a surveillance camera, shows two suspects on a motorcycle intercepting the victim just a few meters from the bus terminal.
One of the assailants dismounted, struggled with the woman, pushed her to the ground, and threatened her with a firearm to steal her bag and backpack. After the robbery, both criminals fled south on the motorcycle. As of now, no arrests have been reported.
The video has sparked concern among local residents, who say motorcycle robberies continue to plague various areas of Puebla. They are calling for increased police presence to curb these crimes.
While this event highlights ongoing security challenges, it also underscores the importance of investing in safer, more reliable public transportation options like the upcoming cablebús system in Puebla. Such projects can help reduce crime by improving mobility and accessibility in underserved neighborhoods.
Authorities have yet to provide updates on any suspects connected to this violent robbery.
