US Government Doubles Down on $10 Million Reward for El Chapo’s Sons

Post by usertopnews

On Monday, July 6, 2026, the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) reiterated its $10 million reward for information leading to the capture of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar and Jesús Alfredo Guzmán, known as “Los Chapitos.” These two sons of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who is serving a life sentence, remain fugitives and are labeled as armed and dangerous by U.S. authorities.

Among the four publicly known sons groomed by El Chapo to continue his drug trafficking empire, only two—Ovidio Guzmán López (“El Ratón”) and Joaquín Guzmán López—have been apprehended. The HSI’s renewed announcement underscores the ongoing priority to bring Iván Archivaldo and Jesús Alfredo to justice, emphasizing the significant threat they pose.

The reward amount has steadily increased over recent years: from $5 million in 2022 to the current $10 million since 2023. This escalation reflects the intensified efforts by U.S. authorities, who in April 2026 classified the Guzmán brothers as highly dangerous targets, ramping up their search accordingly.

Jesús Alfredo Guzmán has also been linked in official documents to violent acts, including the capture, torture, and murder of two former federal agents from Mexico’s PGR (now the Fiscalía General de la República). He is reportedly connected with other criminal figures such as Óscar Noé Medina (“El Panu”) and Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas (“El Nini”), the latter currently imprisoned in the U.S. and leader of the criminal group “Los Ninis.”

While the U.S. government urges the public to provide information, it strongly warns against attempting to apprehend these individuals independently due to their dangerous nature.

This ongoing manhunt highlights the complex challenges in dismantling transnational drug networks and the critical role of coordinated law enforcement efforts. For communities affected by these criminal enterprises, such measures are essential steps toward restoring safety and justice.
