A Brazilian woman was sentenced in South Korea for stalking Jung Kook, a member of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, after repeatedly trying to enter his home and ringing his doorbell more than 130 times in a single day. The West Seoul District Court handed down the ruling on May 8, citing violations of anti-stalking laws and trespassing.

According to the court documents reported by The Korea Times, the woman visited Jung Kook’s residence 22 times in December 2025. She even attempted to enter his property by posing as a delivery person. On one occasion, she rang the doorbell 133 times, left letters and objects around the house, and persisted despite multiple warnings.

Her actions continued into January 2026, prompting South Korean authorities to issue an emergency restraining order preventing her from coming within 100 meters of the artist or his home. Although arrested, she did not stop her attempts to contact Jung Kook.

The court sentenced her to a one-year suspended prison term, meaning she will avoid jail if she complies with probation conditions over the next two years. The ruling noted that her behavior stemmed from a romantic obsession without intent to harm, and she never actually entered the residence.

The judge also took into account the three months she had already spent in detention and ruled out a high risk of reoffending, especially since her deportation from South Korea will be enforced once the sentence is finalized.

This case adds to a series of incidents involving fans of BTS. The most recent before this occurred in June 2025, when a Chinese woman was arrested for attempting to enter Jung Kook’s home.
