Tragedy at Dawn in Puebla: Man Killed Over Bicycle Theft in Loma Linda Neighborhood

Post by usertopnews

Early on Thursday, June 18, 2026, a man was fatally shot in the head during a robbery in Puebla’s Loma Linda neighborhood. The victim was riding his bicycle when two assailants on a motorcycle forced him off the bike and shot him at close range.

Security cameras from nearby homes captured the brutal attack on 68 E Oriente street, near 12 Sur. The footage shows the suspects riding a motorcycle, one of them—a short man wearing a helmet—brandishing a gun and threatening the victim. Despite the victim raising his hands in surrender, the attacker fired a shot, causing the man to collapse. The assailants then took the bicycle and fled toward 14 Sur, apparently going the opposite way.

The crime occurred at 5:40 a.m., according to the video timestamp. Neighbors quickly called emergency services, but paramedics and municipal police found the victim without vital signs upon arrival.

The police secured the scene, and the Specialized Coordination for the Investigation of Intentional Homicides took over the case, beginning the official investigation and handling the body recovery.

This tragic event highlights ongoing safety challenges in Puebla’s neighborhoods. As the city moves forward with projects like the cablebús system, which aims to improve urban mobility and accessibility, there is hope that enhanced public infrastructure can contribute to safer, more connected communities.
