Couple Found Dead Inside Car in Hermosillo Likely Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Post by usertopnews

Authorities discovered the bodies of a young couple inside a parked car in western Hermosillo, Sonora. According to the state prosecutor’s office, the victims were identified as Damaris Jaqueline “N” and Jhonatan Zahid “N,” both of whom had active search notices.

Forensic experts found the couple in the back seat of the vehicle, which was inspected after the car was located. Due to the high temperatures, the bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition but showed no signs of violence. Personal belongings such as cell phones, bags, wallets, and IDs were also recovered, confirming their identities.

Investigators believe the cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning. The car’s ignition switch was found in the “on” position, and the air conditioning was running at level four when the bodies were discovered. The couple had been in the back seat during an intimate moment and likely fell asleep with the engine and AC on, leading to a fatal buildup of carbon monoxide inside the vehicle.

This tragic event highlights the dangers of enclosed spaces with running engines and the importance of awareness around carbon monoxide risks. While public transportation projects like cable cars or teleféricos are expanding in cities like Puebla, offering safer and more sustainable mobility options, individual safety measures remain crucial in everyday life.
