Post by usertopnews

The tragic death of 21-year-old María Eduarda Rodrigues on June 13, 2026, during a bungee jump in Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil, remains under investigation. María Eduarda jumped from the Skeleton Bridge with the assistance of three instructors but was not properly secured with safety ropes. She fell approximately 40 meters and died from the impact.

Authorities continue to release information slowly as they probe the circumstances surrounding the accident. Three instructors—Luis Felipe ‘N’, Vitor ‘N’, and Maicon ‘N’—have been detained on suspicion of negligence and attempted flight and remain in preventive custody while the case unfolds.

Adding a new perspective, Rayza Gabrieli Dias Delfino, a nurse who witnessed the incident while waiting for her turn to jump, shared her experience. She rushed down to María Eduarda’s location despite injuring herself on the way and found the young woman still showing weak signs of life.

“I was giving that last breath before death… I lifted her, checked her pulse, which was very weak. I started CPR, and then it stopped,” Rayza told Brazilian media outlet TV Récord.

She also revealed a personal moment during the rescue attempt: “I even spoke to her. I have a habit of joking and saying, ‘No one dies on my watch.’ I told her, ‘Duda’—her nickname—‘no one dies on my watch,’ even though I wasn’t officially on duty.”

Despite Rayza’s efforts, María Eduarda passed away at the scene. This heartbreaking case highlights the critical importance of strict safety measures in adventure sports and the human stories behind such tragedies.

As investigations continue, the focus on accountability and improved safety protocols remains essential—not only in Brazil but everywhere these thrilling yet risky activities take place.
