Post by usertopnews

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:29 a.m., Homero ‘La Tripa’, a former police commander under Cuauhtémoc Blanco’s administration in Cuernavaca and current leader of the criminal group ‘Comando Tlahuica,’ was arrested in San Pedro Cholula, Puebla.

The detention took place in the San Juan Calvario neighborhood, near 7 Norte street between 10 and 12 Poniente. ‘La Tripa’ was apprehended alongside a woman named Sandra while they were traveling in a blue Volkswagen Jetta.

Authorities from the federal government and the Morelos Attorney General’s Office had an active arrest warrant against him for organized crime.

Who is Homero ‘La Tripa’ and why does this matter?
– He leads the ‘Comando Tlahuica,’ a criminal cell operating mainly in Morelos, known for violence in municipalities such as Jantetelco, Cuautla Ayala, Yecapixtla, and Zacualpan.
– The group is linked to extortion and violent homicides, contributing to insecurity in the region.
– ‘La Tripa’ reportedly used false identification to evade capture.
– He has ties to Cuauhtémoc Blanco, former governor of Morelos and current federal deputy.
– He is connected to the 2019 assassination of Samir Flores, a respected activist and community leader in Morelos.
– Before leading his own group, he was part of the Acapulco Independent Cartel and allied with Guerreros Unidos.

This arrest highlights ongoing efforts to address organized crime in Mexico, a challenge that affects many communities, including migrant and immigrant populations. As Puebla advances projects like the cablebús system to improve urban mobility and social inclusion, tackling security issues remains essential for creating safer, more connected cities.
