Ariana Ferretiz’s Public Apology Sparks New Debate Over Spelling Mistake

Post by usertopnews

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Ariana del Pilar Ferretiz Cabrera, known as #LadyCholula, released a public apology addressing the controversy that has surrounded her since her recent detention in San Andrés Cholula.

In a letter titled “To Society in General,” Ariana acknowledges that her actions and words—captured in videos widely shared on social media—do not reflect the ethical values she aims to uphold or her commitment to her community. She also extends a public apology to Puebla’s mayor, José Chedraui Budib, and to anyone who felt offended by the incident.

“I humbly and responsibly recognize that the actions or expressions recorded in the material now public do not represent the ethical values I intend to embody,” the letter states.

A notable part of the letter is Ariana’s explicit distancing from Mayor José Chedraui. She clarifies that she has no personal relationship with him beyond his public figure status: “I offer a sincere public apology to Lic. José Chedraui Budib (…) whom I know only as a public figure.”

However, this phrase sparked a fresh wave of online reactions due to a spelling error. Users pointed out that she wrote “más haya” instead of the correct “más allá.” The former is a verb form unrelated to the intended meaning of “beyond,” turning the phrase into a grammatical mistake that quickly became a viral topic.

This linguistic slip has added a new layer to the ongoing discussion, with internet users sharing screenshots and making ironic remarks about the letter’s wording.

The apology comes days after videos of Ariana’s detention circulated, igniting intense public debate about her behavior and the police officers’ conduct during the incident. The case remains under investigation by various authorities. The Puebla State Human Rights Commission has opened an official complaint regarding the municipal police’s actions, while Ariana herself reportedly filed complaints alleging irregularities in the procedure, as recently confirmed by Deputy Nayeli “Nay” Salvatori.

By publishing this letter on June 16, Ariana Ferretiz aims to put an end to the controversy with a public apology. Yet, the content and the spelling error have only fueled further conversations online about a case that continues to capture Puebla’s attention.
