What was meant to be a fun afternoon turned into a moment of terror for many families on Monday, June 15, 2026, when strong gusts of wind lifted an inflatable structure at the Torreón Convention Center in Coahuila while several children were playing on it.
Parents rushed in panic as they saw the inflatable move and rise with the wind, fearing for their children’s safety. So far, at least 10 minors were reported injured and taken to a local hospital.
The Torreón Convention Center released a statement explaining that they have the necessary safety measures for such installations, but the extraordinary weather conditions caused this incident.
They also confirmed that emergency protocols were immediately activated to assist attendees and assured that none of the injuries were serious.
“The situation is fully under control. Additionally, the company responsible for operating Gravity Bounce is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the appropriate actions. The results and next steps will be communicated in due course,” the statement added.
This event highlights the importance of safety in public recreational spaces, especially when unexpected weather conditions arise.
