Ariadna, a woman who was allegedly driving under the influence, shared her painful experience of police aggression in San Andrés Cholula during a live broadcast hosted by local deputy Nayeli Salvatori.
Ariadna recounted the physical violence she endured at the hands of municipal police officers, as well as the psychological impact the incident has had on her children. She expressed deep frustration over the public sharing of uncensored videos showing her children, calling it “morbid” and highlighting that her 6-year-old son has even asked to attend therapy.
Contrary to the official statement from the San Andrés Cholula City Hall, Ariadna clarified that her children were left alone at the scene after her detention and were later picked up by her husband—not by the DIF, as the government claimed.
Throughout the broadcast, deputy Salvatori criticized the administration of PAN mayor Lupita Cuautle and demanded accountability, while also noting that Governor Alejandro Armenta supports Ariadna’s pursuit of justice. Ariadna herself repeated twice, “I feel my rights were violated,” calling for action against those she believes used excessive force.
The live stream also revealed a divided public reaction, with many comments defending the police and criticizing Ariadna.
This case highlights ongoing tensions around police conduct and the importance of protecting civil rights, especially for vulnerable individuals and families. It also raises questions about transparency and the role of local authorities in addressing allegations of abuse.
