A significant legal milestone was reached in Puebla as Luis “N,” known as “El Colamochas,” was sentenced to 11 years and four months in prison for brutally attacking a dog named “Huesitos” in Miahuatlán. Alongside the prison term, he must pay a fine of 80,329.40 pesos, equivalent to 710 UMAs (Units of Measurement and Update).
The sentencing was confirmed during a hearing held yesterday at the Tribunal de Enjuiciamiento de Puebla, according to sources within the state’s Judicial Power. This marks the conclusion of a case that sparked widespread social outrage since the attack was first reported.
The assault occurred on the night of February 12, 2025, when “El Colamochas” threw a stone at “Huesitos” while the dog was sleeping, causing multiple fractures. Animal rights group TAC Una Protección al Entorno A.C. brought the case to public attention, highlighting the cruelty involved.
Despite receiving specialized veterinary care at “Tehuacán Salvaje,” including the use of splints for his injured front legs and surgery to treat cancer in May 2025, “Huesitos” sadly passed away three months after the attack. His death was attributed both to the cancer and the injuries sustained during the assault, leaving a deep impact on those who followed his story.
After more than a year of legal proceedings and multiple hearings, on June 4, 2026, representatives from TAC confirmed the conviction of Luis “N” for animal cruelty. The tenth hearing decisively ruled his guilt, marking a rare but important victory for animal rights in the region.
This case not only highlights the urgent need for stronger protections against animal abuse but also reflects a growing societal demand for justice and accountability in Puebla. For communities invested in humane treatment and social progress, such rulings reinforce the role of the judicial system in defending vulnerable lives.
