Two Fuel Trucks and One Arrest Made in Puebla’s Fight Against Gas Theft

Post by usertopnews

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, authorities in Puebla took significant steps to combat fuel theft, a persistent issue affecting both the economy and public safety. The state’s Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), working alongside the Navy (MARINA) and the National Guard (GN), seized two vehicles and detained one individual involved in the illegal gas trade.

The first operation took place on the Mexico-Puebla highway near San Lucas El Grande, where José N. was arrested while driving a tanker loaded with over 6,000 liters of liquefied petroleum gas (LP gas) suspected to be stolen.

In a separate action in the municipality of San Salvador El Verde, security forces confiscated a pickup truck carrying two storage tanks containing 3,800 liters of fuel.

Both the detained individual and the seized vehicles were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will continue the investigation.

This coordinated effort highlights ongoing government commitment to tackling fuel theft, a crime that not only undermines public resources but also endangers communities. Initiatives like these, combined with investments in modern infrastructure such as Puebla’s upcoming cable car system, reflect a broader strategy to improve security and mobility in the region.
