The Secretariat of Public Education of Puebla (SEP) announced that classes will be suspended across all public education levels in the state on Thursday, June 11, 2026. This decision aims to give students, teachers, and school staff the opportunity to engage with the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Classes will resume as usual on Friday, June 12, 2026, following regular schedules.
The state government, led by Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, in coordination with Mexico City’s President Claudia Sheimbaum Pardo, expressed appreciation for the educational community’s cooperation during this significant international event.
This move reflects how public institutions in Puebla are adapting to global moments that unite communities, while also highlighting the importance of inclusive policies that consider cultural and social participation beyond the classroom.
